Episode 15: One-Lined Texts

I'm a texter. I love texting or writing out what I have to say rather than talking. Why? Because I can think about what I'm saying and if it's something I want to take back I can erase it and substitute my words. I can respond to people when I have the time and still multitask while I wait for a response. I also love when I'm enjoying the written conversation like a story and giggle when I read something funny. LOL. But one of the things I do hate is one-lined texts.
One-lined texts grindz mi gearz. Why? Because it delays the messaging process! It's a thorn in my side! Why can't you type 6 sent messages as 1?? Example:

Person: hey you
Me: hey, how’s it going?
Person: nm
Person: what's up?
Person (again): what you up to?
Me: nm either just chillin kinda bored. I'm thinking to make some grub. Lol
Person: Werd?
Person: That's wassup.
Person: what you making me? Lol
Me: Food. :-p

So you can see this person can group their messages together and send it as one. I'll know what you're talking about. If not, then I'll ask. At times they send these one-liners and it interrupts my messaging process because what they receive on their phone (unless it's another iPhone user) aren't in order. Thus we're now on two different pages. I can be talking about berries and Billy over there could be talking about twigs! Plus it irks me when I'm playing a game or using an app and they text me five one-liners at a time. It’s especially annoying when I’m on a call and I get five to ten messages ringing the text tones in my ear in the middle of conversation. Then I have to close EACH and EVERY message before I can utilize my screen to hang up on a call or put someone on hold. Unfortunately I don't have the option of turning off my previewing notifications telling me someone sent a message. I wish apple can make the phone have the ability to just say ONCE I have a message instead of telling me EACH and EVERY message coming in. Maybe one-liners won't upset me as much.... (LIES!)

So an idea to folks who think they're on an instant messaging service, change your mind-frame. Not everyone has unlimited messages and not every has the same type of phone and services. Your one-liners clog up the messaging service and back up other people's text messages. STOP IT! Stop it right now and change your ways. LoL.
