Time, relative to the person and their environment, is a very tricky bastard. Where does time get off suffering and torturing people no matter what they’re doing? In one sense, time runs very quickly for two reasons—running late somewhere or having fun. How is it that we can’t enjoy making fun events lasting memories? Does it not want us to be happy and stress-free? Does it not want world peace, love and happiness? (Ok, so maybe that last one was a bit farfetched.) When we rush, why does time seem like it’s against us getting to our destination punctually? It’s unfair! It’s like time is pointing their finger and having a jolly, good laugh. Why not work with us and slow down so we can get to work or wherever on time? And please don’t give me that bull about waking up extra early to get there on time. Maybe I want to get some extra sleep?
In the second sense, Mr. Time has an uncanny and torturous way of slowing down time to a crawl when we’re at work or a boring event. Why torture us? What could we possibly have done to deserve such fate? It’s as if it knows what we’re doing when we’re about to do it. We’re sitting at work, looking at the clock and see that not even a minute has gone by. What’s with that? Couldn’t time just speed up a little faster? We’d be more than willing to come and work if time flew by. I believe people would have more respect if this happens. And why, for the love of all that is good, does time come to a complete stop at an event that’s BORING? I mean I understand it’s educational and beneficial but drag it out and beat it over our heads? It’s as if time is a boring parent—take away the fun and make us do work. Why not allow us to have a balance? Why not let us have lasting enjoyment? Life would be much more bearable and enjoyable if we had that balance.
